Hello from Roscoe, Illinois

Pastor Lisa Abb, from First Congregational Community Church of Roscoe, IL (right on the IL/WI border so part of our state association) checked in with me today. Their congregation has focused on filling Operation Christmas Child shoe boxes throughout the year. Instead of just filling boxes at Christmastime, the members stayed focused throughout the year on this very important mission ministry. In addition to this mission, FCCC works alongside the Rockford Rescue Mission. In a volunteer project last year, FCCC learned that the Rescue Mission really needed a nice supply of spices for the food they serve. So FCCC created a "Spice Up Your Life" Mission and had a fun time gathering up spice donations. FCCC also has a community garden, where church members plant and harvest, and crops are donated to the Rockford Rescue Mission.
